25.01.2023A new study compares European Contact Tracing Apps

On behalf of the European Commission, Professor Viktor von Wyl co-authored a study on digital contact tracing in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The study authors compared the national digital contact tracing apps of 27 countries, including Switzerland’s SwissCovid. They analysed such factors as adoption, speed of notification, as well as the barriers and enablers for digital contact tracing effectiveness.

The results suggest that notifications via tracing apps could increase testing rates and reduce the time to testing in some countries.
