Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care

Why Implementation Science?

Demonstrating in clinical trials that an innovation is effective is not enough. Implementation Science is a new scientific field that aims to

  • increase and accelerate the adoption and dissemination of research findings and evidence-based practices,
  • de-implement practices with low therapeutic value,
  • increase the involvement of patients, families and the public in research,
  • achieve knowledge circulation i.e., to enable the transfer of knowledge from practice to research.
