Implementation science aims to narrow the know-do gap in evidence-based health care. Many interventions delivered today lack an evidence base or have been found to be ineffective or even harmful. Improvement in evidence-based care delivery therefore require de-implementation; that is, the removal of so called low-value care. This lecture aims to explain, what low value care (LVC) is and what the determinants, strategies, and challenges for de-implementation of LVC are.
