Dr. Myrta Kohler is a registered nurse with a doctorate in nursing science.

After her basic nursing education, Myrta Kohler worked for four years at the Cantonal Hospital of Graubünden and completed a Bachelor's degree in nursing at the WEG University of Applied Sciences in Aarau. Since 2011, Myrta has been working in various roles in nursing development and research at the Valens clinics, as of March 2024 as Senior Nurse Consultant.

Myrta successfully completed her Master's degree in Nursing at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences in 2012 and her PhD in Nursing Science at the University of Vienna in 2018. From 2013 to 2024, Myrta worked at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, from 2020 to 2024 as a professor. She established and led the Competence Center for Rehabilitation and Health Promotion. Myrta worked for 11 years in the dual competence profile (employment in research and practice) and conducted research in the areas of rehabilitation nursing, self-management, health promotion and integrated care.

Since March 2024, Myrta has been a research associate at the Institute for Implementation Science in Health Care in the Nursing Science research group.
