Aline Wolfensberger is a medical doctor, board certified in Internal Medicine and in Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiology.

After residencies in Psychiatry and Internal Medicine, she joined the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiology of the University Hospital Zurich in 2012 and holds the position of an attending physician since 2016. She received her Venia Legendi for Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiology from the medical faculty of the University of Zurich in 2021. Since 2023 she is a member of Swissnoso, the Swiss National Centre for Infection Prevention.

The main clinical and research focus of Aline Wolfensberger are healthcare-associated infections, specifically pneumonia in non-ventilated patients. Besides various other research topics, she carried out and published several quality improvement projects including implementation science aspects.

Aline Wolfensberger joined IfIS in 2023 as a senior researcher.
