Biography

Jana completed her Master´s degree in Philosophy at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She focused mainly on epistemology, philosophy of science and philosophy of psychiatry.

In February 2020, Jana started her PhD at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine. Her research interests are at the intersection of different scientific disciplines: digital health, medical ethics, computer science, philosophy of science, and ethics of artificial intelligence. In her PhD research, she analyzes normative aspects of the chances and risks of the interaction with conversational artificial intelligence for mental health from the user’s and patient’s perspective.

In addition to her PhD, she has also a research assistant position at a DSI project on the potential of novel unstructured data sources for health research. Finally, Jana coordinates the DSI-Ethics and Health Communities.
