Guidelines for Poster Presentations

Poster presentation/Poster walk

The poster presentation will be held in person. It will take place on 13 February 2026 between 10:30 and 11:10am. You will give a 4-minute short talk (3 minutes for the presentation and 1 minute for questions and discussion) for a group of max. 10 attendees. All posters have been grouped by topic and each walk has been assigned a guide.

Your guide will manage the time for your talk. Use this time wisely, stick to the main points and do not exceed the time limit. Please help ensure that all presenters in your group receive their allocated time to speak.

We will publish your poster group and guide by 20 January 2026. Please check the website for updates.

Practicalities

Your poster will be displayed on a stand-up board in the Lichthof (floor D). The poster boards for each group will be placed next to each other and the presenters will give their presentations one after another, next to their respective posters.

Posters can be hung up between 8am and 9am on Friday morning. You will find pushpins in the poster areas. Find the number assigned to your poster in the top right-hand corner of your board. Below, you will find all the information you need to prepare for your poster presentation.

Containers for transporting posters can be stored in the cloakroom (E-18, Floor E). Any posters still on display at 16:30 on Friday will be removed and discarded.

We kindly ask you to display your poster between 9am and 4.15pm, to give conference attendees the chance to see it. We suggest that you keep an eye on your poster during the breaks, as food stations are located near the posters.

Guidelines for posters

  • Please prepare your poster in A0 portrait format (841 mm x 1189 mm) to fit our boards. Posters in landscape format will not fit the exhibition boards and are therefore not permitted.
  • A poster should be clear, self-contained and informative. When in doubt, keep the information simple. It is often better to include slightly less information on a poster than slightly more – after all, you will be there to provide additional details and initiate conversations.
  • Try to keep the cognitive load on the viewer of your poster as low as possible; do not include too many complex graphs or large tables.
  • To ensure readability we ask you to use large fonts.
  • Remember to include the trial registration number if your poster reports on a trial.
  • Do not forget to include information about funding, ethics approval and other relevant details.
  • Include contact details (email, social media handles, etc.) so others can follow up with you.
  • If your poster includes information that should not be shared publicly, or if you do not want your poster to be shared on social media, please make this clear on your poster.
  • Use the following footer: Presented at the 4th Swiss Implementation Conference, 12–13 February 2026.
  • Using a QR code on your poster is a great way to link to your website, a published paper, or a pre-print. You can create QR codes on this website: qr-code-generator.com
  • We recommend using official guidelines, such as training.nih.gov/creating-a-scientific-poster

Guidelines for Poster Flash Presentations

The poster flash will be held in person. The poster flash will take place on

Friday, 13 February 2026, 10.00-10.20 at Aula KOL-G 201

You will have a 90-second time slot to present your abstract. The aim is to engage the audience and to encourage them to visit your poster during the poster walk.

Practicalities

To prepare the sessions slide deck, your slides must be uploaded to the file drop platform SWITCH. In case your presentation is less than 5 MB, you may send your slides to impact2026@ifis.uzh.ch no later than 5 February 2026. We will confirm the receipt of your presentation. If required, an update of your presentation may be uploaded to SWITCH until 10 February 2026 end of day.

  • Budget your time: 90 seconds for your presentation. There will be no time for questions or discussion. The session host will stop your talk if you exceed your allocated time.
  • Limit your slides to max. 2.
  • Ensure visibility by keeping the font size large.
  • Keep textual information minimal and summarize the main points. Keep your talk to one key message that makes the audience curious to visit your poster presentation in the poster walk.
  • Using a QR code on your slides is a great way to link to your website, a published paper, or a pre-print. You can create QR codes on this website: qr-code-generator.com
  • We will provide an extra slide about where people can find your poster during the poster walk. We will insert this slide shortly before the conference and you need not to worry about it.
