At the IfIS, we are uniquely placed to benefit from synergies and cross-cutting themes at the intersection of implementation science and digital health. The many topics that fall within these cross-cutting aspects of our research and teaching include digital approaches to delivery and implementation of interventions, the implementation of digital transformation and novel technologies in health settings, and the multifaceted role of digital technology in bridging the gap between evidence and action to translate research findings into actionable insights and changes in practice.

Inspired by the latest findings from implementation science, the digital health focus at IfIS goes beyond technology in isolation to include, for example, user perspectives, health system and societal contexts, stakeholder needs, incentives and disincentives and potential barriers or organizational hurdles for adopting and using digital technologies. We explore the human dimension alongside the technological dimension in order to lead the future of digital health innovation in a way that better serves the users and benefits society, patients and care workers alike.
